Suddenly seeing Jonathan Gardner’s art all over the place—and feeling great about that.
Telling my immersion blender to get with the program ‘cause this watermelon-tomato gazpacho is going to be in heavy rotation as we head into the too-hot-to-cook months.
Finding a reason to look forward to August: The Get Down, a Netflix series about the seventies Bronx origin of hip hop as directed by Baz Luhrmann, looks whoa. (And gimme more, more about the costuming, please!)
Battling a sore throat and proclaiming my loyalties to Ricola’s Honey-Herb Drops in the process: They’re neither too medicinal-tasting nor sacchariny.
SMH-ing at just how many movies I saw in theaters in 1996, the year the summer blockbuster really came into its own, turns out. I’d like to take some credit (blame?) for making this happen as a bored middle-schooler in the suburbs flush with babysitting cash.

Dealing with the stink downside of my sockless running habit by spritzing this powerful stuff liberally.
Taking away one important piece of intel from NYC Design Week: Fake flowers are back, and they’re actually cute now.
Feeling like I had no choice but to squander a Saturday night (and a handful of brain cells, no doubt) consuming Vanderpump Rules after both The New York Times and The New Yorker published endorsements of it. The show exemplifies my new favorite (and surprisingly useful) term: “sexy high school.”
….And attempting to balance that binge by watching the truly wonderful—and considerably more high-brow—Nora Ephron documentary.
Drooling over all of the gorgeously minimal pieces that emerged from Shaker Design Project’s “Furnishing Utopia” workshop. Gimme those baskets.

Struggling to believe we still have any of these around. Maybe I need to ask my plants to write personal testimonials (ideally incorporating phrases like “favorite watering hole” and “best buds”)?
